Well delivered, informative course. Jo was excellent at delivering the course content while empowering the participants to reach their own conclusions and to reflect on how best to manage their individual volunteering projects. The course provided lots of valuable, practical tips about managing volunteers and management styles. the course allows each individual to adapt their learning to fit in with the needs of their service. Excellent course, would recommend

I really enjoyed this course. It was well structured with sessions occurring every other week, except for session 3 which was rescheduled due to illness but that wasn’t an issue for me. Jo did a fantastic job at leading the course, she delivered the content in a friendly and professional manner. She always ensured that everyone had chance to share thoughts and reflections and demonstrated excellent empathetic listening. The material was delivered at a good pace, it didn’t feel rushed nor did it feel too slow. The four hour sessions did feel a little bit too long for me personally, I found it hard to concentrate for that amount of time over zoom so I would suggest perhaps making the courses shorter in time but adding another session to deliver all the content. The 121 coaching session and the mental toughness questionnaire was really helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone who manages or works closely with volunteers.

I did the Volunteering Management course as part of my job role. The course helped me understand volunteer management and gave me focus for best practices going forward. Jo, the tutor, was excellent and delivered the course at a good pace. I’d definitely recommend this course to others working with volunteers.

Interesting course on Volunteer Management which also focused on Mental Health and wellbeing which the Canal and River Trust would like to deliver to all using blue/green spaces along our 2000 mile Canal network.
I took this course to help develop my current role. I also found it really useful to hear from other people in similar roles or who are already in roles which I aspire to have.
Jo was really helpful especially when I couldn’t attend one of the sessions.
